Environment

“A company that recognises the importance of environmental protection.”

T. T. Jones Electrical Ltd is committed to operating responsibility and in compliance with environmental legislation.

The company has developed an Environmental Management System, which includes Risk Assessments and minimises the environmental impact of its works

Lamp Recycling

In light of the requirements of the 2004 UK Landfill Directive and Hazardous Waste Regulations, end of life gas discharge lamps now need to be handled differently.

Appreciating this key change in the law, the company works closely with Recyclite Ltd, which provides a total solution for all four categories of hazardous lamp waste. This partner is fully ISO 14001 accredited, registered and compliant.

As part of this partnership, Recyclite Ltd utilises the most advanced lamp recycling plant in Europe to dispose of lamps in the safest manner available anywhere in the UK.

T.T. Jones Electrical Ltd is fully compliant with the regulations, which require companies in England and Wales to maintain records of lamp disposal as of July 16th 2006, and to submit them to the Environment Agency (EA) every three months.

The scheme utilises a state-of-the-art recycling facility in the UK to give;

  • 100 per cent recycling
  • A zero landfill policy
  • A fully auditable waste trail from collection to recycling
  • Full compliance with all legislation

Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment Regulations (WEEE)

The company complies fully with the legal requirements of the 2004 UK land fill directive and the WEEE directive, and in conjunction with its partner Recyclite Electro-Waste Recycling – an ISO 14001 accredited organisation.

The scheme utilises a state-of-the-art recycling facility in the UK to give;

  • 100 per cent recycling
  • A zero landfill policy
  • A fully auditable waste trail from collection to recycling
  • Full compliance with all legislation

Cardboard Packaging Waste

It is the company’s policy to recycle 100 per cent of its cardboard packaging and paper waste. All cardboard waste goes to MW White Ltd, a county council waste paper recycler based at Ketteringham, Norfolk.

Aluminium and Mixed Metal Waste

It is also T. T. Jones Electrical Ltd’s policy to recycle 100 per cent of its aluminium and mixed metal waste. These materials are disposed of by SITA UK, a major recycling and resource management company.

The company utilises local recycling partners to minimise transportation and impact on the environment.

T. T. Jones Electrical Ltd is registered with the Environment Agency to dispose of controlled waste, and leaves sites safe and tidy. Customers can be safe in the knowledge that they are receiving an unrivalled service.
